| Our Anna's Hummingbird (Calypte anna) contemplates the five tubular petals of the Yellow Columbine. Which one shall offer the tastiest nectar?
These hummingbirds are named for Anna de Belle Massena, Duchess of Rivoli, Italy. This is the only hummingbird that sings, more of a screeching warble sound than a melody. These hummingbirds are found in Southern Arizona, California, Texas, Oregon, Washington, and British Colombia. |
